December might just be my favourite month of the year, sartorially speaking. Not because its quiet (is it ever?) but because it's when getting dressed feels least complicated. There are places to be and people to see, absolutely — but there’s also an unspoken permission to dress for enjoyment rather than obligation.

This month, fashion sits in that sweet spot between practical and celebratory. Pieces need to work hard, but they should still feel fun: lightweight dresses that don’t require a second thought, long-line denim shorts that hang perfectly at your hips, bikinis made for early-morning swims, and separates that look intentional even when thrown on in a rush. It’s all about items that move effortlessly through the festive season and the busy, sun-filled days that come with it.

There’s also a shift in the accessories I reach for in December. They’re not there to finish an outfit so much as define it. A great pair of sunglasses makes a basic tee and shorts feel instantly cooler. Micro beaded bags are the festive season personified. Earrings and a colourful heeled sandal transition a linen dress from day to night without question. Even stringing a necklace across my décolletage feels like decorating a human Christmas tree — in the best way possible.
