Chloë Sevigny links up with F*cking Awesome for a re-edition of that iconic skateboard

Chloë Sevigny Fucking Awesome

If you've hung out on Tumblr long enough, there are certain images of Chloë Sevigny that you can recall as easily as your mother's name. There's that film still from Gummo of Sevigny with bleached hair and brows posing in a tiger swimsuit. Another is the mother of Downtown cool caught mid dance move at a store opening party in 2000. Perhaps, most memorably is a yearbook portrait of Sevigny with a buzz cut and choker – proof that the It Girl just had it, even in middle school. Like I said, it's pretty memorable. Which is why, I imagine, Fucking Awesome decided to immortalise it on one of its skateboards back in 2014.

Now, almost a decade since the skatewear brand – co-founded by the legendary Jason Dill – sent out that bubblegum pink deck, it's decided to team up with Sevigny once more. This time for a re-edition of that original skateboard, which is raking in thousands on the resale market, along with a drop of clothes designed by Sevigny herself.

The model and actress announced the collaboration with Fucking Awesome on her Instagram promising "booty shorts, polos and more" designed to be worn by "boys and girls and everyone in between". A first look at the collection reveals pleated grey and black mini skirts with lace hems and bow embellishments, along with black polo shirts and hot pants slapped with a pink Fucking Awesome logo.

Those who know Sevigny for her stylish nuptials or time in Hollywood may have forgotten her early ties to skateboarding culture. The actress was plucked straight from Washington Park in the 90s to star in Larry Clark and Harmony Korine's infamous cult classic, Kids. For many, she was their first on screen crush. Alongside Sofia Coppola, Sevigny later fronted campaigns for X-Girl, the sister label of X-Large and brainchild of Kim Gordon and Daisy von Furth, which was a staple of skate culture at the time.

Anyway, if you want a piece of the collaboration between Chloë Sevigny and Fucking Awesome, it goes live on the FA website on September 6.
