CHANEL’s take on après-ski rosy makeup

While faux-sun exposure seems to be makeup's current obsession, CHANEL is instead saying yes to a cool-weather flush. The just-launched Les Beiges Healthy Winter Glow collection calls on the rosy-cheek and pearly sheen that only a day on the slopes can bring (unless you have the products on hand, that is).

The Les Beiges line is reimagined every season, but time around the inspiration is winter sports, ski culture and – naturally – après. Like a week in Aspen (kind of) the line-up heroes a protective primer, pinky blush, frosted lip colours, icy nail enamel and a shimmering lilac eye palette, all of which are designed to leave you luminous and sparkly.

We often praise the beauty benefits of hot weather holidays (the glow! The dewy sheen!) but cooler temperatures rarely get a mention. But between the fresh mountain air and the sub-zero temps, there's a certain rosy, fresh-faced finish we're very much into.

Our tips for applying the new collection

When using the CHANEL Les Beiges Winter Glow, try sweeping a little bit of the shimmer across your lids, while dusting blush over the apples of your cheeks, taking any excess across the bridge of your nose (this will give you a natural finish, as if you've just come off the mountain and are now warming up fireside). We're particularly obsessed with the shade Chilling Pink for lips. The Rouge Coco Baume formula delivers moisture in spade, while the gleaming soft pink works on all skin tones, whether it's work alone or on top of another lip colour. See some of it in sitchu below (including the Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette in Cool, Healthy Glow Blush in the shade Rose Polaire and Rouge Coco Baume in Chilling Pink.
