Postcards from Capri: a Venroy guide to where to eat and drink on this Italian isle

Characterised by its rugged limestone landscape, and renowned for its beautiful coastal grottoes and iconic Faraglioni rocks, Capri is one of the most cosmopolitan islands in the Mediterranean. Once the haunt of artists, writers and the aristocracy, today, it’s one of the worst kept secrets of both the international jet-set and Twinkle-Town celebs. Home to one of Venroy’s seasonal concept stores, Capri anchors the brand in its founder, Sean Venturi’s Italian heritage.

As one of Venroy’s homes-away-from-home for the European summer, find here, a list of the team’s favourite things to do when holidaying upon Capri’s sparkling Tyrrhenian waters.

Where to eat

Da Paolino

If dining beneath the heavily laden boughs of a veritable orchard of fragrant lemon trees sounds good to you, this is an absolute non-negotiable, and the De Martino family has been serving Caprese island cuisine to both locals and visitors for generations. No reservations, so get there early to snag a table.

Pulalli Wine Bar

With reluctance to blow this one up, this restaurant resides in a clock tower that frames an incredible view over the piazzetta. A bit of a hidden gem.

Villa Verde

A classic Italian restaurant just a few metres away from the heart of Capri, the Piazzetta, Villa Verde is full of island charm. Romantic dinner or family gathering, this place has the range for it all.

Where to drink

Capri Rooftop at Luna Hotel

To indulge in the drama of viewing the Faraglioni at their most stunning angle, have a Spritz and a snack here. Do note that the view is definitely included in the price.

Hotel La Palma Terrace, Bianca Rooftop or Hotel Quisisana

Three aperitivo spots closer to the centre of town.

Déviant Natural Wine Bar

Whether you’re drinking or not, or perhaps even if you have an animal friend with you, all are welcome at Déviant. Once you’ve eaten and drunk your fill, head downstairs to Rumore Discoteca to dance the night away.

What to do

Buonocore Gelateria

Gelato, served with freshly made waffle cones, hot off the press. Need we say more?

Shopping for summer essentials

If you wander down Via le Botteghe, you’ll find the best stores on the island for all your Euro summer looks, as well as any travel essentials you realise you need to have.

The Blue Grotto

Of course. Magical.

Gardens of Augustus

Whilst made by a German, the Gardens of Augustus are a testament to the rich flora of the island. Then wind your way down the Via Krupp to Marina Piccola for a swim.

La Fontelina Beach Club

If a Beach Club is more your speed, then hit La Fontelina, where you can claim a sun lounger and take a dip by the Faraglioni.

Buon divertimento!
