When it comes to film, there aren't many nights brighter and more anticipated than the annual Festival de Cannes in the South of France. It's a ritzy affair that celebrates some of cinemas most respected established and emerging artists – both in front of and behind the camera. And this year's Cannes 2024 red carpet has us excited to say the least.
But excitingly, it's also become an opportunity to see some gorgeous red carpet looks grace the French Cote d'Azur. Now, in its 77th year, Cannes Film Festival has an exciting schedule of programming (of which, we've already chosen our favourite picks). Barry Keoghan's newest flick Bird by British auteur Andrea Arnold is in the mix. As is Francis Ford Coppola's latest work Megalopolis. David Cronenberg's autobiographical The Shrouds will in contest, as will Yórgos Lánthimos' surprise follow-up with Emma Stone and Hunter Schafer: Kinds of Kindness.
There are also two Australian films having their international premiere: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Lorcan Finnegan's psychological thriller The Surfer.
On this year's judging panel, we have the inimitable and universally beloved filmmaker and actress Greta Gerwig. Alongside her, Killers of the Flower Moon actress (and first Native American to be Oscar-nominated for best actress) Lily Gladstone. Joining both of them is last year's Palme d'Or winner (for his film Monster) Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda.
Needless to say, but there are plenty of fashionable attendees heading to the French Cote d'Azur this week for film screenings and red carpet-ed events. But for all the best dressed moments and fashion news, see our Cannes 2024 red carpet round-up below...
