There is nothing quite like seeing a gemstone in person. From diamonds, where irresistibility is almost completely guaranteed, to lesser known precious gems, a piece of jewellery truly comes alive when its story is told. Much of the time, this is done when seeing a piece in person for the first time.
Emeralds are one of these stones, each containing depth and inclusions that track their own journeys on the earth. So, to celebrate Bulgari's unique collection of emerald creations, the House has unveiled an extraordinary collection of the gemstone, among other highlights, flown in exclusively for the Maison’s 2023 High Jewellery and High-End Watch Event held at the newly opened Capella Sydney this month.
It is an annual, invitation-only event, providing guests an opportunity to discover rare and one-of-a-kind jewellery and watch pieces. Each High Jewellery piece is masterfully crafted by artisans at Bulgari’s High Jewellery atelier in Rome, under the inspired vision of Creative Director Lucia Silvestri.
This year, the curation features over 110 High Jewellery pieces with a specific focus on Bulgari's selection of Colombian emeralds, standout pieces included a platinum, one-a-kind Le Magnifiche necklace that embodies seven round cabochon-cut emeralds, set with over 26 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds. Moving through the space there were also several one-of- a-kind emerald rings, including a platinum Le Magnifiche piece set with a prized octagonal-cut emerald of 6.53 carats and over 2 carats of fancy shape and pavé-set diamonds.
“We are thrilled to welcome some of Bulgari’s most precious treasures to Australia this June for our 2023 High Jewellery and High-End Watch event. This year’s selection is a testament to the unrivalled craftsmanship and creativity of our maison,” said Bulgari Oceania Managing Director Andrew McLaren.
Capella Sydney was where the event has been taking place, mirroring the Maison's commitment to celebrating history while embodying contemporary elegance.
