Blinks, hold onto your Celine baseball caps because K-pop starlet and House ambassador Lisa can now officially add model to her résumé of skills, with the BLACKPINK singer walking in Celine’s winter 2022 runway show. Aptly titled Dans Paris, the footage of the show was released today, showing the singer walk the runway.
Wearing two looks – a silver, sequin mini dress followed by a black jacket and skirt – the runway marked a milestone moment in the French capital through taking place in two historic Parisian buildings. These included the Hôtel de la Marine in its recently restored Salons d’Apparat, the first runway show and campaign to have taken place in the building since its restorations. The second location featured the Hôtel National des Invalides, first built as a hospital for war veterans.
Donning a 90s blonde bob and black sunglasses, Lisa confidently walked through the 17th century structures, the flecks of silver and gold complementing the gilded gold detailing adorning the building’s walls. Watch the moments for yourself below, with Lisa appearing at both the 4:35 and 8:48 minute marks.
Lisa from BLACKPINK has previously spoken about Celine being aligned with her personality, its ever-evolving state an extension of how she view herself. Saying Celine is “never afraid to reinvent itself,” she explained the brand encourages her to feel confident and an empowered woman.
“That facet of the brand is very much in line with my personality,” said Lisa in late 2021. “Sometimes it feels like Celine pieces boost my charisma and my confidence. They make me feel empowered. I think that’s why Celine and I have such great synergy.”
Lisa has also discussed her relationship with Slimane and praised both his designing and hands-on involvement in shooting campaigns.
“He’s so active as an all-around artistic director, and he has unparalleled instincts,” explained Lisa of Slimane. “He is constantly inspiring me in new ways. I always look forward to our shoots, and it’s truly an honour to feel like I’m part of Celine’s history under his leadership.”
