Art in December: these are the Australian shows and exhibitions to look forward to this month

As we step into December we're powering full steam ahead toward our favourite galleries to make up for lost time. It's the last month of 2021, so this new roster of art shows and exhibitions is bound to be memorable. With lockdowns and restrictions defining the past few months, now is the time to rally around your local artists and show your support. What this also means is that fine arts colleges and schools are spotlighting the work of its students. So feel free to wander over to UNSW Galleries or VCA to glimpse the countries budding talent (here's looking at you, Anthea Saraikin).

Here at RUSSH we're committed to bringing you the most exciting shows across the country. Be it Joan Ross at N.Smith Gallery or the opening of Jeffrey Smart's newest show at the National Gallery of Australia; there truly is something for everyone this month.

Below, we've rounded up a non-exhaustive list of unmissable exhibitions happening across Australia this December. Enjoy!
