With winter well and truly here it's time to forgo the outdoors and seek refuge among art, high and low. After all, you're spoilt for choice this June as galleries nation-wide mirror the seasons and refresh their walls with new exhibitions. It's our favoured form of entertainment and the easiest way to stay social sans chapped lips and icy hands.
I'll have you know it's Archibald season and this year marks their 100th anniversary, so it's going to be big. This is also the first year they've achieved gender parity among the Archibald finalists. As if you needed another reason to go? Be sure to visit our very own Kitty Callaghan's upcoming show at China Heights Gallery with Luca Blasonato. For those in Queensland, June 13 marks the last day to check out Abdul Abdullah's open studio at QAGOMA and catch a rare glimpse into the artists practice.
