Art in August: the unmissable shows happening across Australia this month

As August rolls around, so too, does a new wave of art to immerse yourself in. All across Australia some of the countries best talent ready themselves for solo and group shows, art fairs and round-table talks. Just in time, me-thinks, for our friends in south Queensland who are emerging from a snap lockdown. For those in Sydney facing an extended lockdown that, fingers-crossed, will end in early September, there is still ample opportunity to support your local artists with many galleries opting for online shows. Take, for instance, Darwin's Aboriginal Art Fair 2021, an ethical online marketplace that directly supports Aboriginal artists and art spaces. Ben Mazey's tactile show Making Nice Things. Or a digital round-table hosted by Cherine Fahd and Julie Rrap. Wherever you're located, there is something for everyone.

Happy gallery-hopping! And for more information about upcoming exhibitions read on.
