The Bells: A Daylong Celebration of Lou Reed, NY

He gave us The Velvet Underground, Transformer, Walk On The Wild Side, Berlin and so much more – a revolutionary melody maker with a career spanning more than five decades, Lou Reed has more than earned himself a place in rock history. Through his creative arc the worlds of pop music, poetry and experimental composition were artfully united, laying down a new sound and paradigm shift.

In celebration of Reed’s immeasurable contribution to contemporary culture, New York City’s Lincoln Center is hosting The Bells: A Daylong Celebration of Lou Reed curated by Reed’s widow, musician Laurie Anderson, along with his longtime friend and producer Hal Willner. The roster will feature live performances of Reed’s music, screenings of Reed-related films and documentaries, readings and lyrics by notable authors and actors, an all-day broadcast of his back catalogue and more.
The Bells takes place July 30 at The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, NY.
