Where purpose meets style – a new chapter for one of Australia’s most-loved brands, VRG GRL

There’s a shift happening at VRG GRL. The beloved Australian label — and personal favourite of the RUSSH team — is evolving.

Still rooted in the laid-back, feminine cool that made it a wardrobe staple nearly two decades ago, the brand is now stepping into a new era: one defined by intentionality, responsibility, and purpose.

At the heart of this evolution is a pursuit of B Corp certification by early 2026 — a globally recognised standard for companies committed to balancing profit with purpose. For VRG GRL, B Corp offers a transparent, accountable framework for embedding sustainability and ethical practices across every part of the business, from sourcing to supply chain to staffing. With re-certification every three years and regular check-ins built into the process, the move toward B Corp is a way of future-proofing values into every touchpoint.

Behind the scenes, the brand is also committed to meaningful change, with sustainability goals at the forefront. A dedicated Responsibility Officer now tracks metrics like waste, water, and carbon emissions, with annual reduction targets in place. And the design team is pivoting further toward sustainable materials, prioritising organic fabrics and long-lasting wardrobe staples over fleeting trends — think well-cut denim, timeless outerwear, and versatile dresses made to be worn and re-worn, season after season, year after year. There's even a dedicated Quality Control Coordinator ensuring customers receive the best possible product.

And it's also not just the clothes themselves that are growing and evolving.VRG GRL has implemented a progressive suite of employee-first policies, including 14 weeks of paid parental leave, additional family and health leave, and a 4-day work week. Every team member also receives 20 hours of paid volunteer leave annually, reinforcing the brand’s mission to uplift women and children through access, education, and opportunity.

To complement these changes, the brand is also expanding its physical footprint. With plans to open more brick-and-mortar stores across the country, the goal is to bring the tactile experience of VRG GRL to life, letting customers like us feel the fabrics, try on silhouettes, and connect with the pieces in real life.

Just as important is the way these spaces – both physical and digital – are being shaped. Recent campaigns have championed diversity not just as a checklist, but as a standard: a commitment to reflecting a broader spectrum of bodies, backgrounds, and identities in every collection. It’s part of a wider, ongoing effort to speak to the real women who wear VRG GRL.
