It's official: Timothée Chalamet is trading in his Lime Bike for something a little more high octane. The actor is now confirmed to be starring in a new film, High Side, which is set to follow motocross heist, and directed by James Mangold. The film will be based on an unpublished story by Jaime Oliveira.
Chalamet and Mangold just came off working on A Complete Unknown together, the Bob Dylan biopic (that cleaned up with eight Oscar nominations), but now they’re ditching folk ballads for full-throttle chaos.

What is the film about?
High Side follows Billy, a former MotoGP prodigy gutted by a crash and a family legacy that won’t let go. He’s out – working in a garage, caring for his addict father – until his estranged brother Cole shows up. Their father has just died. Cole has a proposition: rob banks. Fast. On superbikes. Cole assembles a rough crew. Among them, a woman who pulls Billy into something deeper. The plan is tight: hit small-town banks across the desert. But the past doesn’t stay buried. An FBI agent with history is hunting Cole And their final hit is timed with a motorcycle parade.
It’s action, but not empty. The kind Mangold does well.
When will it begin production?
Right now, Chalamet is still mid-shoot on the final scenes of Dune 3, and has the Safdie brothers' Marty Supreme coming out in December. Still, High Side now being confirmed, we think he might begin filming as early as 2026.
