Creative directors of Dinosaur Designs Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy are wishing for summer just as much as we are. It's why their latest collection is all about the joy inspired by the sultry Australian summer weather.

Introducing Swim, the newest collection from Dinosaur Designs, one inspired by the ever-changing hues of the ocean. Swim as a body of work explores the endless and ever-shifting moods of the sea in a fresh and tonally cool colour palette. New shades of Mineral, Mint, Sky Blue, Cobalt, Leaf and Chalk Swirl meet with accents of silver. It all comes together to create a series of personal and home accessories that speak of the beauty of the Australian seas.

 

 

Swim includes jewellery pieces that range from iconic rock bangles made from the signature swirls of resin through to dainty metallic pebble forms in pendants and earrings. A fresh introduction to Dinosaur Designs, Swim includes Silver Pebble Stem and Pebble Tower earrings, with organic shapes that inspired by the depths of the ocean.

 

 

Of course, it wouldn't be a Dinosaur Designs collection without a full range of homeware accessories too. The decor forms are solid and enduring pieces that range from vases and bowls to platters.

Both pebble and stone vases are rendered in seductive hues of blue, green, turquoise, azure and aquamarine. They're then accented by silvery tones swirled into the final form for a fresh and sea-foam-esque effect.

 

 

Louise Olsen says the ocean is her ultimate inspiration owing to its ever-changing colour palette and mood-shifting energy. "It’s such a life force.

We wanted people to feel a sense of freedom imbued by the calming and fresh palette of the sea when they sea Swim," Louise said. "I live by the sea, watching its movement and ever changing hues for inspiration was my favourite part of pulling the collection together."

 

 

 

The campaign for Swim was shot by Levon Baird, who responded to the femininity and modernity of the collection. She created a whimsical scene that plays on the aquatic themes of the collection.

Swim will be available in all Dinosaur Designs’ Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, London, New York and online stores from Monday 16 August, 2021.
