What the ‘RUSSH’ editors are shopping this September

September feels like a reset. The air is softer, the days stretch longer, and the pull towards lightness takes over. Our editors are leaning into the season with crisp shirting, short hems, sandals built for cobblestones, and a touch of jewellery (and Champagne) for good measure. Here’s what we’re coveting this month.

Now that it’s officially spring, and that I’m about to head on holiday, I feel like I can finally set my sights on some warm-weather pieces. I’ve already bought some very sturdy sandals. I’m super fussy about the sole, they have to be very grippy. I’ve had one too many close calls on some Greek cobblestones. The Sol Sana sandals I found are so comfortable and have loads of grip. I was hoping to find a pair of breezy linen pants too, alas, all the pairs I tried were too sheer. When I get home, I’m going to try these Venroy ones next.

More holiday wear essentials, I love these gingham Doen shorts. I think they’d be so cute with a lace tank and even layer with a cardi. The Nikon Zfc seems like the perfect camera to capture some amazing memories. I also would have loved to have taken the new RAAIE face mist with me, but it’s not launching until 17 September. I also snagged one of the All For Mimi tanks, which is currently in the post. I wanted to know what all the hype was about.

I love September. Spring has sprung and as I am a Libran, it means I can buy myself things that aren’t essentials (i.e not just imperfect vegetables from Harris Farm) and buy things I actually want. Firstly, I would really like a copy of Punk by Salvador Costa to have on my coffee table, which would require me owning one, the Theo coffee table in chrome would be the perfect solution to this problem. I also for sentimental reasons want this Silver Jews poster. Naturally, I will have an identity crisis surrounding my birthday and will want to update my wardrobe starting with the basics. I would love some of the Beare Park hi rise jeans, not that Saint Laurent is basic but I always want new black blazers and this over sized silk shirt by The Row are top of my wishlist. I also love this pleated dress and it would be a sensible yet desirable purchase. Naturally there will be some sort of gathering with Champagne and I will document my guests enjoying it on Fujifilm, I will save the development for a week or so to draw out the memories. I always try to buy myself a party dress every year, so it’s a toss up between this romantic open back by Ann or this black and nude beauty from Simone Rocha.

The weather is warming and I’m very excited to be donning a short again. I recently tried on these Emmy Shorts Brown Stripe from One Mile that I loved, but I am also really feeling the return of a denim short short (less jort, more Daisy Dukes). Something in the vein of these Levi's Blue 501 Original Denim Shorts for lounging at the beach in. For footwear, I’m not sure I’ll ever be an open-toed girl, but these Hereu Bonell Woven T-Bar Mules I spotted at Lee Mathews were a winner in my books. And for something fun, Hansen & Gretel’s latest collection is A+. Loving this Harper Halter Top Samba Polka for tucking into a fun trouser or pair of jeans.

I recently got my hands on some sans [ceuticals] products for the first time (I know, I know – I now ask myself what rock have I been living under). I’ve been loving the pH Perfect Body + Hand Wash and Activator 7 Body + Hair + Face Oil. The oil has been the answer to all of my dry skin and hair concerns of late – so much so I wish I could bathe in it.

Hommey has recently dropped new loungewear and while I am oh, so grateful for the spring sunshine, there is still ample time to enjoy cosy cashmere. The Cotton Cashmere Sweater and Pant in Cloud are on my wishlist this month.

After thirteen years as an apple iPhone girly, I’ve made the switch to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 – maybe it’s my Aquarian nature but I needed something new and fresh – and apple iPhones just haven’t given me much in terms of innovation for so long (I don’t care about apple AI features). So, with a new phone, comes the need for phone cases. I’m (still) waiting for BURGA to drop Z Flip 7 cases, but I got my hands on a couple CASETiFY ones and they are great.

Lastly, I’ve been eyeing off the new colourways of New Balance’s 204L’s. Decisions, decisions.

Maybe it’s the warmer weather, but there are so many things I’m adding to cart this month. First and foremost, I love this lace-trimmed slip by Matin. The colour is so Spring-coded to me. This top by The Waiting Room has also been on my wishlist forever… I can’t decide if I prefer the short or long sleeves, so maybe I need both. And in keeping with the cute top theme, I am (still) obsessed with this sheer one by P Johnson.

I am also lusting after lots of jewellery this month. Love Isabelle does bracelets so well, without being overly expensive. I’m loving this chunky style. Also in the accessories realm, it’s my birthday this month, and I’m considering pulling the trigger on a pair of tabis. I quite like this brown shade for something different. And last but not least, I am dying to get to Mecca to smell the Phlur fragrances in person. I need to know what the fuss is about - but I feel like I will love Heavy Cream.

September always feels like a little reset month for me, and with my birthday coming up, I’ll definitely be treating myself to a cookies and cream cruffin from Lune.

I’ve always loved soft butter tones, and this cotton shirt from Bassike feels like the perfect throw on piece. I’ve also been eyeing this mini dress from My Mum Made It. It’s such an effortless style for this time of year. For shoes, these MM6 ballerina flats have been on my wishlist for ages - they’re so simple and easy, the kind of shoe I know I’d end up wearing with everything.

I am on a bit of a shopping ban right now, but I did just pick up some new season P Johnson… Who can resist? While I was in the boutique, I also tried on some shirting (my first time, no idea why it’s taken me this long). I’m going to grab the Oversized White Poplin Shirt. It’s crisp, masculine and sure to be a Spring staple with a great pair of jeans. I also really want a coat for my trip to Europe this summer (their winter) – something big and fluffy that says, ‘I own a chalet’. This Toteme one is the dream, but I’ll settle for this beautiful burgundy wrap shape from COS. On the topic of COS, I went in today and wanted to buy this vest. Instant polish for work when you have no brain capacity to plan an outfit.

I also just restocked my beloved Bioderma Atoderm Shower Oil (the only one I’ve found that feels like liquid silk but doesn’t make the shower slippery) and Intensive Baume. If you have dry body skin, this duo will change your life. Finally, I got my eyebrows shaped last week (Lien at Brow Confidence) and she used this Maybelline Concealer pen to create a crisp edge. I used to use it when I was about 17 and forgot how creamy it is. Very similar to the viral Kosas formula, but cheaper. Adding to cart.
