It's been a wait of gigantic proportions, but Philophiles will finally get their wish this September. That's right, Phoebe Philo has finally given announced when we will see the launch of her namesake brand; confirming that September 2023 will be her moment.
After her tenure at Chloé, Philo's minimalist, well-crafted designs that built the foundations for the relaunch of Céline have left people anxiously awaiting her next move. Philo is well known for her legacy of dressing art gallerists, academics and authors along with casting Joan Didion in an advertising campaign. The "for women, by women" tagline has become synonymous with women's fashion today.
What has been revealed so far?
Philo released an Instagram post with details of the brand's release date this week. The single post reads, 'Our inaugural collection will be revealed and available on our website phoebephilo.com in September 2023.' The post continues, 'We will be opening for registration in July 2023 and look forward to being in touch then.'
The release date has not been the only reveal the post had in store. Underneath the information, stark against a black background, the simple yet elegant sans-serif logo has been revealed. Setting the tone for the aesthetic of the brand, which can't help but remind us of Burberry's new look.

“Being in my studio and making once again has been both exciting and incredibly fulfilling,” Philo said when she first announced her comeback in 2021. “I am very much looking forward to being back in touch with my audience and people everywhere. To be independent, to govern and experiment on my own terms is hugely significant to me.”
If her comments reveal anything about the plans for her brand, she's got a lot to give and we'd be lying if we said we weren't waiting anxiously to see what she has in store for fashion's legacy.
