Kyoto, with its quiet beauty and centuries-old charm, proved the perfect setting for a launch that spoke in whispers rather than declarations. As twilight settled over the city’s tiled rooftops, guests gathered on an elevated observation deck for a moment of stillness, anticipation quietly building for the reveal of OMEGA’s newest chapter – the Aqua Terra 30 mm collection.
The evening unfolded as a study in subtlety. Rather than a traditional presentation, attendees were invited to move through softly lit voile passages, each space revealing a different facet of the collection. The immersive journey mirrored the spirit of the watches themselves – delicate in scale, considered in design, and meant to be discovered slowly. At the heart of the concept was a theme: “my little secret.” A reminder, perhaps, that the most meaningful objects are often the most personal.

Twelve distinct styles make up the new line, with details that speak softly but with purpose: radiant dials in lavender, deep navy, and muted pink; precious metals like 18K Moonshine™ and Sedna™ Gold alongside stainless steel and two-tone blends. Each piece offers a quiet kind of luxury – one meant to slip seamlessly into everyday life, rather than dominate it.
The campaign, revealed during the evening, centres around six women from across the creative landscape: Ashley Graham, Danielle Marsh, Tems, Ariana DeBose, Marisa Abela, and Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. Each ambassador brought her own interpretation to the idea of a “secret,” captured in a cinematic short that passed the timepiece from one woman to the next in a rhythmic, near-ritual exchange. In Kyoto, five of the six were in attendance, adding warmth and presence to the understated celebration.

But what made the event memorable wasn’t just the setting or the collection – it was the atmosphere of quiet connection. Guests took part in calligraphy sessions and stepped into vintage-inspired photo booths. Conversations drifted between the poetic and the playful, framed by Kyoto’s timeless elegance and the intimacy of shared discovery.

Behind the aesthetics lies a technical achievement worth noting. The watch’s compact 30 mm size houses new calibres – engineered specifically for this release – that reflect OMEGA’s continual pursuit of precision, even at the most intricate scale. It's a detail that remains hidden, felt more than seen, much like the stories these watches are destined to collect.
The Aqua Terra 30 mm collection is now available globally. But in Kyoto, on that early summer evening, it already felt like something known – quietly, beautifully – by those who were there.
