It starts with light. Sydney Harbour, just after dusk – the sky a deep indigo, the water, still, except for the reflections of the first arrivals. Then, a warm glow begins to rise from an extraordinary estate in Rose Bay, where the city’s creative crowd and familiar faces gather for an evening defined by champagne, celebration, and the unmistakable grandeur of Moët & Chandon.
The Maison has always known how to mark a moment. For over 280 years, Moët & Chandon has been the champagne that signals joy – the glass raised at the start of a new chapter, the sparkle that carries through every milestone. This year, the world’s most famous champagne house celebrates connection with a bold new statement: red.
Red for human connection. Red for warmth and togetherness. Red for love, shared celebration, and the unmistakable energy of the festive season.
And last night, the Maison hosted an intimate dinner at the extraordinary Rose Bay House, one of Sydney’s most exclusive harbour-front homes. Designed by Fearon Hay and built on onyx slabs, it offered a space that fused architecture and artistry – a fitting backdrop for an evening of elegance and spectacle. Creative minds and friends of the Maison flocked in attendance, including Shanina Shaik, Lara Worthington, Montana Cox, Bryn Chapman Parish, Elliot Garnaut, Remy Hill and Tom Derickx.
The evening marked the launch of the holiday season as well as Moët & Chandon’s Limited-Edition End-of-Year bottles – a seasonal transformation of two of the Maison’s most celebrated cuvées. The Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut arrived dressed in a striking red bottle; a symbol of unity and celebration. Alongside it, the Moët & Chandon Impérial Rosé took on a luminous pink finish – vibrant, modern, and undeniably festive.
Guests were welcomed by Moët Hennessy’s Scott Bowie, for a dinner celebrating both craftsmanship and joy. The menu, designed by multi-hatted chef Joel Bickford, paired modern Australian flavours with the vibrant character of Moët & Chandon’s signature champagnes.
The setting reflected the Maison’s seasonal vision. Rouge floral installations filled the space, echoing the tones of the evening. The iconic Moët & Chandon tower rose as a centrepiece, surrounded by candlelight, laughter, and the soft hum of conversation.
And as the evening drew to a close, Sydney turned its gaze skyward. A spectacular Moët & Chandon drone display illuminated the harbour in synchronised light with a luminous love letter from Paris to Sydney. The city's night sky was lit up with icons and symbols from both cities – the Eiffel Tower, Sydney Opera House, and the legendary Moët & Chandon Champagne Cork Balloon – alongside joyous messages including “From Paris to Sydney,” “Happy Holidays,” and “Moët & Chandon With Love.” It was a spectacular ending to the evening; a celebration of togetherness that lingered long after the last glass was raised.
