The MM6 Maison Margiela X Salomon Mule is coming… are you ready?

We love our bread, we love our butter, we love our Maison Margiela. Specifically dear to us is the official sister of the house, MM6 Maison Margiela. Launched in 1997, the offshoot is a reimagining of the contemporary wardrobe with a more transgressive eye. With a focus on streetwear and a genderless approach to their line, MM6 Maison Margiela is known for its legendary collaborations of yore. They have previously joined forces with the likes of Supreme to reveal a two-fold Spring 2024 Collection.

Their favourite co-conspirator, however, has always been Salomon. The shoewear brand has crossed paths with Margiela many times in the past to centre their collective ethos of functional design and hybrid-wear. Previous drops have included the Cross Wader trainer and the ADV Skin 5 hydration vest. As we reported in the past, the two offer a reimagined take on the performance-oriented design.

On past collaborations, the MM6 Maison Margiela design team explained in a statement, “Our motivation was to create a shoe that could easily transition between cityscapes and the great outdoors — a single product that both maintained Salomon’s high-performance specifications and also resonated with MM6 Maison Margiela’s contemporary aesthetic. The core idea was the same as it always is for us. Our goal was to push Salomon’s performance-driven designs to such an extreme that they seamlessly integrated into the MM6 Maison Margiela wardrobe.”

This new chapter of the collaboration MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon continues to marry the fashion house’s signature irreverence with the outdoor sports label’s durability-oriented approach. This time, they have set their sights on a haute reimagining with the humble mule. Comprising two new colourways – black and silver make up the shoe's palette. The shoe previously appeared in Margiela’s 2024 Resort lookbook.  Past models are designed in two separate colorways offered in a mix of beige, teal, brown, blue and yellow.
