MFW beauty report SS 17

From eras past to future vision. We take a close-up look at Milan Fashion Week's best beauty moments.

Tough love.

ALBERTA FERRETTI
Smokey eyes were the order of the day for the Ferretti woman this season. Pair with a simple, soft bun. Femininity with an edge.

ANTONIO MARRAS
A nod to mod defined the beauty look at Antonio Marras SS 17. Colour blocked black and white covered the eyelids, with beehive hair piled high.

More than a woman.

BOTTEGA VENETA
Beauty for always. Sleek and simple hair was deeply parted while brown-toned makeup fused fresh with sultry.

DIESEL BLACK GOLD
This season had us reminiscing over our 90s icons with hair twisted into mini-buns. Not just your typical prototype.

Colour riot.

EMILIO PUCCI
In true Pucci style pops of colour stole the show, with green, red or blue streaks across the eye. A nod to the past while looking to the future.

ETRO
A golden glow like the summer sun. Light contouring in shades of beige kept the Etro girl young and fresh.

Bring me the night.

FENDI
Proving that glitter goes with everything, Peter Philip’s beauty look at Fendi was paired with a dramatic cat eye. The most daring look of the city.

SPORTMAX
Mellow yellow. Choose a sunny shade for eyes à la this season's Sportmax.

What's your sign?

GIAMBA
Like a banner blazoned across the sky, models at the Giamba show wore their silver markings proud.

GUCCI
Brows were bleached and left bare or brushed in lilac, yellow or peach. Soft focus.

Catch the light.

JIL SANDER
Jil Sander made a case for no makeup, instead opting for creams and oils for SS 17.

GIORGIO ARMANI
Deep navy shaded the lids were made to match at Giorgio Armani. Eyes like the night sky.

Jungle beat.

MAX MARA
Rainbow stripes. Pastel colours were painted across eyes and cheeks in a tribute to Tropicalia.

PHILOSOPHY DI LORENZO SERAFINI
A collection inspired by The Blue Lagoon filtered into the beauty look too. Tousled hair and a fresh face will have you feeling like Brooke Shields on an island escape.

Softly, softly.

PRADA
Sleek hair and brushed brows are almost all you need to be this season’s Prada woman. Peach on the eyes, cheeks and lips.

MARNI
The hair at Marni struck the balance between creamed and oiled, soft and straight. Bare beauty.

Wildfire.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO
Red and orange were streaked beneath brows while hair was gelled back off the face.

ROBERTO CAVALLI
The Cavalli woman has us forever dreaming of the free flowing 70s. A smoky eye, hair long and loose. This season just add a plait for detail.

The new mood.

TOD'S
Soft and brushed or wet and slicked backed. Adopt the style that feels like you.

VERSACE
Long and straight. Straight and long. Time to take your irons out of storage.
