Mattea Perrotta’s paintings are like a quiet seduction – slowly, slowly, and then all at once you’re transfixed. Inspired by the dark romance of Los Angeles, and a love of minimalist abstraction, her pieces reflect her travels and residencies in Portugal and Italy, the colour palettes of far-flung corners of the globe and her interactions with women throughout her life. From February 8 – 12, a selection of Perrotta’s new works, presented by L.A.’s MAMA Gallery will be on display at Zona Maco Art Fair in Mexico City.
