Bridie Gilbert shares the best of London Fashion Week

Meet me in London. From a celebratory Chinese New Year lunch to the newest faces on the runway, RUSSH Fashion Editor Bridie Gilbert shares the best of London Fashion Week.

 The shows …
Symonds Pearmain: the special guests to Fashion East AW 18 this year showed at the Topshop show space.

Erdem: held an elegant show at The National Portrait Gallery.

Molly Goddard: tiny crop tops, signature tulle and shirred outfits didn’t disappoint as models wandered through an industrial kitchen before posting up on the worktops to swig from open bottles of wine and pick at food from silver buffet trays in what felt like an ode to the end of a great night.

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi: looked to the Haenyeo community in South Korea - a co-operative union of fishing village societies made up of female divers dedicated to sustainable fishing. Here the look was scuba hoods and sleeves layered under signature florals and mother of pearl embellished dresses worn with fishnet tights, scuba shoes sprouting seaweed and buoy-like bags in marine blue and algae green.

The beauty …
Val Garland’s glitter dusted forehead’s at Preen, Rebecca Wordingham’s primary coloured eye shapes and velvet skin at Palmer Harding and Thomas de Kluyver’s fresh skin and rosy cheeks at Simone Rocha.

The accessories …
Embellished fishnet tights, scuba shoes and buoy bags at Preen, Symonds Pearmain’s t-shirt turbans and logo sports socks and Matty Bovan’s completely unwearable but nevertheless amazing caged-balloon headpieces in his finale looks.

The faces …
Lily McMenamy at Symonds Pearmain, Edie Campbell at Molly Goddard and Symonds Pearmain, and Jean Campbell at Burberry.

New faces Akiima, Veronica Manavella, Aaliyah Hydes, Hannah Claverie, Fran Summers, Hannah Motler, Heejung Park, Manuela Sanchez and Sara Grace Wallerstedt.

But HRH Queen Elizabeth II front row at Richard Quinn’s show was the face to beat them all.

Between shows …
Lunch at Xu in Chinatown to bring in the Chinese New Year, and a screening of Dakota Fanning’s directorial debut of Hello Apartment for Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales series.
