LOEWE is one brand that just doesn't seem to stop helping. This time, honouring the age old tradition of tying a knot to remember, LOEWE launch their annual collaboration with Knot On My Planet, a wildlife preservation initiative to raise awareness on our declining population of the African Elephant.

Working solely within the fashion and luxury sector, Knot On My Planet is an organisation that exists to protect and safeguard creatures from ivory trade and poaching through working solely within the luxury fashion sectors in the industry. This time, Knot On My Planet return once again with LOEWE launching their collaboration to raise awareness about the elephants and open donation opportunities for the Elephant Crisis Fund.

 

 

In its third collaborative installment, LOEWE releases a twist on its iconic Elephant bag, working in support of another non-profit organisation, the women of the Samburu Trust. Following its popularity, the Elephant bag will see the same beloved shape and style however will be crafted out of Shuka, the traditional textile of the Kenyan Maasai tribe. This initiative does not only support the African Elephants, however provides the women of Samburu Turst viable work opportunities to help sustain their families and communities and improving the lives of the Samburu people and in preserving their land and wildlife.

 

 

A vibrant checkered fabric, the colours represent the Samburu tribe and their affinity with the cycles of nature and way of life. Embodying colours of blue for the sky, red for cattle's blood and white for cow's milk, the bag is limited to 300 editions and will launch on 25 March as an online exclusive to LOEWE and MyTheresa. The bag features a tasselled strap hand woven by artisans of the Samburu Trust, a unique design feature that steps away from the original LOEWE Elephant leather bag.

 

 

100% of all sales proceeds will be donated to The Elephant Crisis Fund, a joint initiative of Save The Elephants and the Wildlife Conservation Network, set up in partnership with the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. The Elephant Crisis Fund supports ideas and funds urgent actions by highly vetted and trusted conservationists in working to preserve the future of elephants.
