A night of opulence: Inside an intimate evening at the opera with ‘RUSSH’ and L’IDÉE WOMAN

In partnership with L’IDÉE WOMAN

There are few places more magical to transport yourself to than an evening at the opera. Unrivalled opulence, and a suitable indulgence of drama (both on stage and in the enchantment of the evening), the marrying of theatrics come together for an unmissable evening that ignites all the senses. On the final days of summer, RUSSH's executive fashion director, Hannah Cooper, and iconic Australian designer, L’IDÉE WOMAN, came together for a night to remember, hosting some of our creative minds against the backdrop of the Sydney harbour sunset.

The evening started over a light feast at the Parisian-inspired wine bar Le Foote, a fitting location for the brand whose moniker is a translation of the French word for 'the idea'. Nestled into a historic, heritage-listed site at Sydney's The Rocks, flutes of sparkling wine were passed around a table set for an evening of drama – complete with handwritten place cards and dimly lit candles. Cheerful conversation between friends filled the room; the connection between the empowering and inspiring women reflecting a commitment to community that underpins both RUSSH and L’IDÉE WOMAN.

Guests like Christelle Scifo, Ilkin Kurt, Montana Cox, Jacqui Brown, Liv Parsons, Serena Wardell, Jess Purchase, Elodie Russell, Jamie Nguyen and RUSSH's own Kitty Callaghan and Hannah Cooper were treated to a selection of Mediterranean favourites like house-made sesame focaccia, beef tartare topped with parmesan, capers and egg yolks, and of course, sweet and subtle orange panna cotta for dessert. But it was the Fremantle octopus served with macadamias and potatoes that was the real star of the show.

Once bellies and hearts were full, the evening carried over into a very special excursion to the iconic steps of the Sydney Opera House, where guests were invited to attend the Giuseppe Verdi opera La Traviata. Traipsing towards the historic building, the balmy breeze brought life to the unmissable L’IDÉE WOMAN pleating that is so intrinsic to the brand – carrying this breathe of energy into the theatre and onto the stage for a performance that was both contemporary and fresh while honouring the legacy of the story.

In-between the immersive storytelling, guests stepped outside at intermission for a glass of Perrier-Jouët, becoming the unexpected audience to a surprise fireworks show that lit up the harbour and the Sydney night sky. A journey of immersion and extravagance in every corner, all that's left to say is buona notte!
