Sinking into the glassy blue waters of Perth, Western Australia

Let’s take it back to the golden years. This season is all about perfecting that winning formula: beach and repeat.

Escaping ...
Summer, for me, is all about nostalgia. I spend all year remembering the taste of a warm, salty breeze and the feeling of barefoot days in the sun, of sinking into the glassy blue waters of my hometown of Perth, Western Australia. Unlike most memories, though, it’s just as good when I do it all again. An especially treasured place is the island of Rottnest, just off Perth, where I spent weeks on end of my childhood fishing, exploring and falling in love with the ocean. This year, I’m returning. It’s been far too long.

Essentials ...
Relax, take it easy is my motto this year. And if I could live in bikinis, believe me, I would. On the occasions when I little more coverage is required I'll be keeping the two-piece theme alive in my favourite set from Paris Georgia Basics. As for beauty, it's business as usual: my favourite oil-based cleanser to get every last bit of sunscreen off at night, plus an indulgent body oil I hope will make this summer feel just a little like a Tom Ford campaign.

Celebrating ...
Every day is Christmas, and every night is New Years Eve.
This festive season I’ll be celebrating with the best of friends, with my head in the clouds and my feet in the sand. Dressing up means slipping on a touch of gold jewellery from my Christmas list and toasting will be done barefoot atop a sun lounge at Australia’s first licensed beach bar, conveniently located close to home at Bathers Beach, Fremantle. Speaking of debuts, I wouldn’t miss W.A.’s first Falls Festival, just a wander away.
