Ganni brings us to a ‘Higher Love’ with its spring summer 22 collection

Ganni Higher Love

It's no question that here at RUSSH, Copenhagen Fashion Week is high on our list of priorities. Just like everyone else, we too want to possess the undeniably cool and effortless aesthetic of the beloved Danish girl. So, while we have certainly watched in awe as the street style looks have rolled in, it's equally as important to shift our focus to the outfits coming down the runway. This is of course, where the magic begins. One beloved brand that has captured the hearts and minds of Scandi-inspired dressers is of course, Ganni, and the brand's SS22 collection, Higher Love is the ultimate treat.

As the name suggests, the latest offering from the brand is all about taking things to new heights. Metaphorically, but also physically. The runway was staged at CopenHill; a crazy, 'high up in the sky' artificial ski slope above Copenhagen. A fitting location for Ganni's return to the world and to an IRL fashion show.

Speaking to the brand's long-term commitment to sustainability, the location of choice had just as much to do with grandeur as it did meaning. Beneath the surface of the luscious green slope; lies a technological powerhouse that sets a new standard in sustainable waste-to-energy production and recycling.

Denmark’s famous and largest waste-to-energy power plant – known locally as ‘Amager Bakke’ converts 400,000 tonnes of waste per year and provides energy for 62,500 Danish homes by efficiently utilising and burning low-carbon waste. It only seems right for Ganni that its Higher Love collection not only focuses on self love; but also a greater and deeper love for our planet.

Of course, Ganni's latest offering of looks didn't disappoint either. The SS22 collection is the ultimate antidote to locking down and staying home. Featuring slinky, silky dresses and bra tops finished in the season’s signature scrunchie detailing; the collection is designed to be danced in and seen in.

“Spring Summer 2022 is all about reigniting our love for life and love for ourselves. Personally, I used the lockdown to look inwards. I know many people did that – thinking about what makes us feel good, what we miss from before and what we don’t want in our lives anymore," shared creative director Ditte Reffstrup.

In line with Ganni's signature approach, the new collection is all about the details; partnered with feminine and sharp touches for a fresh and unpredictable finish. A colour palette bursting with knits in tomato red, hot pink, bright blue and an acid shade of lemon; Higher Love is further proof to why Ganni has remained a key player amongst the Danish fashion set.
