Essential suiting for the upcoming Spring season

Spring is almost at our doorsteps, and as we collectively wait (and hope) for life to return to some sort of normalcy, we can at least begin to daydream of life out of sweatpants and into two-piece suits. Dressing up has never felt more of a luxury, so this week see our round-up of Australian and New Zealand designer suiting.

E Nolan

Known for her sleek and effortlessly cool made-to-measure suiting, Melbourne based designer and tailor Emily Nolan is the one we’ll always return to. Creating signature classic styles with an attitude tailored to your body. The made-to-measure offering is now available in a wider range of colours and materials from a classic charcoal or black wool, to a crisp ice blue or salmon-coloured drill cotton. The design options are limitless, we also suggest layering with one of her knitted cricket vests for a timeless approach with an abundance of personality. It’s the E Nolan way.

P.S E Nolan is also making reusable face masks in pre-washed 100% cotton in an assortment of very fun prints.

St. Agni

Byron Bay label St Agni was originally known for creating woven footwear worthy of cult status. The brand recently expanded their lifestyle offering with a foray into ready-to-wear that has been a successful one. From relaxed shirting to jumpsuits and wrap dresses, there’s many a timeless staple to choose from. Stand out hero pieces of the moment include the Hajime Blazer and Kisho Pants in ecru. Made from 100% raw silk for a textured hand-feel finish and relaxed, wide-leg silhouette complete with waist tie. A cool, casual suit set for ease of movement and style.

Maggie Marilyn

New Zealand designer and eco warrior Maggie Marilyn has been championing transparency and sustainability since the creation of her eponymous label. The Have Faith Blazer and I’ll Be There By Your Side Pants are a bold statement, but definitely one to try if you don’t shy away from colour. Made from 100% deadstock wool in a sweet watermelon pink shade designed to brighten anyone’s day. Structured and feminine, what are you waiting for?

Arnsdorf

The home of design transparency, ethical manufacturing and sustainability. Established by Jade Sarita Arnott in 2006, all Arnsdorf garments are designed, cut, sewn and finished in-house in Collingwood, Melbourne. The Vanessa Jacket and Pant are an easy fit with boxy style double breasted blazer and high waisted sailor wide leg trouser. Made from 100% wool in natural sand colour, this is a sophisticated take inspired by classic men’s tailoring. For an added boost of colour, we also recommend the Celeste Suit Jacket in Forest Wool.

P.Johnson Femme

The sister brand of P.Johnson that was years in the making. The goal of P.Johnson Femme has been to help people dress better – a notion we can definitely get behind. From sleek and refined, to relaxed European styles. All P.Johnson Femme pieces are made to measure with a range of design options and fabrics to choose from. Try luxurious Irish linens, Italian cottons, corduroy or even cashmere flannel in a multitude of blazer and trouser styles.
