The debut episode turns the spotlight on Dante, McQueen’s Autumn Winter 1996 collection. Guided by fashion historian and Central Saint Martins professor Alistair O’Neill, the film takes us behind the scenes of one of McQueen’s most powerful moments. For those who remember, Dante was unforgettable: sharp tailoring, religious symbolism, and a sense of dark drama that shook the fashion world.

For those discovering it for the first time, it’s a crash course in why McQueen became such a legend.

What makes this series exciting is how it connects past and present. McQueen’s approach to tailoring was never just about clean lines or technical perfection. It was about emotion, narrative, and impact. In Dante, you see the way he blended Savile Row discipline with theatrical storytelling, creating pieces that felt as much like art as clothing.

The film doesn’t just celebrate the past, though. It reminds us how those principles still drive the brand today under creative director Seán McGirr. Watching Dante with that lens, you see how the DNA of the house continues to evolve—always innovative, always bold, but deeply rooted in the craft McQueen cared about most.
