Here are our favourite looks from the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival 2023

All the red carpet looks from Cannes Film Festival 2023.

The 76th annual Cannes Film Festival is in full swing this week, once again enticing a barrage of thespians and cinephiles from around the world to the South of France to traipse up the red carpeted steps of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

Presiding over this year's film jury is Swedish filmmaker Ruben Östlund, whose films The Square and Triangle of Sadness have won two of the past five Palmes d’Or (the night's highest prize). Other notable jury members that will sit alongside Östlund this year include actors Brie Larson and Paul Dano, French director Julia Ducournau and Afghan filmmaker Atiq Rahimi. The festival's opener is Jeanne du Barry. Shot mostly on location at the Château de Versailles, the film was written, directed and stars French filmmaker, Maïwenn, alongside Johnny Depp.

And while the festival's celebrations centre largely on achievement in film, it's become a time of year that is also marked in the calendar of fashion lovers too. From Elle Fanning's custom-made pale pink tulle orchid Alexander McQueen gown, to Fan BingBing's tiger and bamboo embroidered dress by Christopher Bu – here are our picks of the best red carpet looks being served up on the Festival de Cannes 2023 red carpet.
