All about sheer lace: Where to shop the hottest trend of AFW

A big gusty exhale could be heard around town: Australian Fashion Week has concluded for 2024. Even though we prevailed against the mayhem, we're still taking notes on what can be taken from the runway. There were ample style and beauty looks to mirror: Sleek hair, wet looks , and a whole lot of sheer lace. From Karla Spetic's lace-sheer bodysuits to Carla Zampatti's eveningwear,  see-through lace was inescapable. On models, they roved from options in full-length maxis, a-line catsuits,  minis and plenty more.

Don't believe us? Do some preliminary research with our SS24 trend edit. In the words of our great guest editor Kim Russell, "The power a sheer or sequenced skirt has to elevate a preppy top is unmatched. For the SS24 collections, there was a version of this on almost every runway – and for good reason. It’s one of those trends we could all participate in and recreate with our style touches. My favourite look would have to be the Proenza Schouler glass skirt, as it jingled and sang coming down the runway."

Now, while winter rolls into town, we're tucking in, getting snug, and doing a load of shopping from the comfort of our screens. There's no time like now to onload your wardrobe with something a little more... transparent. Onto the clothes. Beneath, scroll for RUSSH's edit of all things sheer and lace.
