Punk poet laureate and musical icon – Patti Smith and her debut album Horses embodied the spirit of longing and revolution in mid-70s rock ‘n’ roll. To accompany the performer’s final Australian tour performing the acclaimed record, Blender Gallery, Paddington, is presenting Because the Night – A Portrait of Patti Smith. The exhibition will feature captures of the musician taken by a host of renowned photographers, including Lynn Goldsmith, Bob Gruen, Norman Seeff, Frank Stefanko and Allan Tannenbaum, and is the first time the works have been displayed in Australia with some available to purchase exclusively from Blender Gallery. Because the Night will be on display until April 30.
