Celebrating an icon. The Art Gallery of NSW's Atelier program - a group of philanthropists, creative leaders, business leaders, and social influencers who support the Gallery and its artists - paid tribute to legendary photographer Robert Mapplethorpe and his muse Patti Smith with Riot in the Gallery: a throwback punk-themed party. Guests were invited for an exclusive viewing of Robert Mapplethorpe: the perfect medium, prior to the exhibits closing this weekend, as well as a performance from performance artist and provocateur Betty Grumble, a Q&A with AGNSW curator of photography Isobel Parker-Philip, fashion photographer Liz Ham and Grumble, and a performance from Sydney-based all-girl punk band Rackett. Raise a riot.
