So, do we all have a crush on Patrick Schwarzenegger now?

Patrick Schwarzenegger's character in The White Lotus might not be entirely likeable, but that doesn't mean fans haven't taken an interest in the man behind the role. The actor joined the cult franchise for season three as Saxon, the overly-confident eldest of the Ratfcliff siblings, and all-around annoying guy.

While Schwarzenegger isn't new to the entertainment industry (he's the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, if you hadn't already worked that out), season three of The White Lotus is by far his biggest role, and it's opened him up to a whole new audience. So, if you've already devoured the latest episode, and have been left with some questions about this season's golden boy

 

Who is Patrick Schwarzenegger?

Patrick's life in the spotlight started long before The White Lotus. Born in 1993 (making him 31 at the time of writing), he’s the eldest son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. Growing up in a family of such towering figures — literally, when it comes to his father, a former bodybuilder and Hollywood action star, and his mother, a journalist and member of the Kennedy family — meant that Patrick's life was always going to be under a microscope. However, the actor has made it clear in interviews that while his family’s legacy shaped his early life, he’s determined to make his own mark.

He's also on the path to creating a family of his own, having recently proposed to girlfriend Abby Champion. The pair regularly share snippets of their relationship to Instagram including, most recently, a sweet video where Patrick broke the news to his family that he had been cast in The White Lotus.

 

What else has Patrick Schwarzenegger appeared in?

Patrick made his on-screen debut at the age of 10, appearing in the 2006 film The Benchwarmers. Though his role was small, it marked the beginning of his journey into Hollywood. He went on to star in various films in the years that followed, including Midnight Sun (2018), where he played a teenager struggling with a rare illness, and the horror-comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015).

He also appeared in Killing Gunther (2017), a dark comedy directed by and starring his father. Although the film wasn’t a major hit, it highlighted Patrick’s comedic timing — something that would prove fruitful for his star-making White Lotus turn.

Off camera, Patrick is a businessman and philanthropist. In 2019, he co-founded the environmentally conscious clothing line, Project360, which promotes sustainable fashion. He's also dabbled in producing, with The Pump (2021), a documentary about the bodybuilding culture and legacy his father helped to create.

He has great style, too...

You don't have to scroll far into Patrick's Instagram to see that the star has great style.
