We like to take pride in the homegrown talent that comes out of our beautiful country. Several familiar names have been making their mark in the creative space recently: Miah Madden, Teagan Croft, Philippa Northeast, Josh Hueston. And the newest addition to that ensemble is Josh MacQueen. His is a name some of you may not have had the pleasure of crossing paths with yet, but it’s one you’re going to want to make note of.
But if MacQueen conjures images of a car garage and quad bikes, or perhaps candy-floss pink hair – ding, ding, ding, you're on the money. MacQueen is best known for his role in Prime’s Motorheads, the TV series that was cancelled after just one season (Prime, we will not forgive you for that), as well as Netflix’s Surviving Summer, starring fellow friend of RUSSH, Annabel Wolfe. And if you’re like us and lapped up every inch of those shows, well, I hope you’re thirsty for more, because boy, do I have another Josh MacQueen show to introduce you to.

He's about to star in your new favourite hockey series

Down girls, down. Yes, there is a new hockey series called The Sticks coming to Netflix, and MacQueen is starring in it.
The story follows Harper Sullivan in South Dorothy, Minnesota, the widow of a well-loved hockey coach who is tasked with bringing a once-legendary high school team back to life. The show comes from Shawn Levy’s production company, the same team behind Stranger Things. And starring alongside Macqueen is fellow Aussie Costa D’Angelo.
With no release date set just yet, other than a 2027 premiere in sight, we can’t wait to watch this one.
He handed the Outer Banks cast a golden chicken

That's right. MacQueen was joined by the cast of The Sticks at Netflix's Outer Banks fan farewell event, the 'Pogue Awards.' There, Macqueen and his castmates handed Madison Bailey (who plays Kiara in Outer Banks) a golden chicken for the category “I’m a Pogue, I do Pogue Things”.

MacQueen has already acted in a well-loved TV series, although it was sadly cancelled after one season. Being his first American project, he has previously stated on his Instagram story learning an American was a skill he had to learn for the series. He even requested that his character be a quarter Australian to let the any slips into his native accent pass, but no bueno. Regardless, we think he did a very good job.
If you're unfamiliar with the show still – Motorheads is a coming-of-age drama that focuses on teenage twins Caitlyn and Zac who move to their mother's hometown in a struggling industrial heartland. Making friends and bonding over their shared love of car and racing, dark secrets come to air about their late father played by Ryan Phillippe. Macqueen played Harris Bowers, a somewhat cocky and arrogant antagonist, that despite a hard exterior, he's built himself quite the adoring fanbase. So much so, he has a Wiki Fandom account on him.
