Consider this your introduction to Ella Rubin

Ella Rubin

I'm sorry to say, but if you had any plans this weekend, they're likely to be overtaken by Prime Video's latest addition. Sterling Point is the streamer's new YA drama that I'm addicted to for more than one reason. For starters, the plot is pretty juicy – it's about 17-year-old Annie Jacobson whose life is turned on its head when she and her twin brother inherit an island in Canada from their grandfather. But the actress who brings it all to life, Ella Rubin, is what really makes it worth watching.

Rubin has already been garnering some hefty on-screen credits (from The Idea of You opposite Anne Hathaway, to Sean Baker's Anora), but Sterling Point marks her first lead role. Naturally, the only break I took between episodes was to scour Google for every known fact about the woman of the hour. If you had the same thought, allow me to save you a few steps. Get to know Ella Rubin, below.

She's a Virgo

Rubin was born on September 2, 2001, which makes her a Virgo.

She attended performing arts school in New York

Much like her on-screen counterpart Annie, Rubin is born and bred in New York. She grew up on the Upper West Side and attended the Professional Children's School, which counts Scarlett Johansson, Macaulay and Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Jessica Parker among its alumni.

You probably already recognise her

If you turned on episode one and were struck by how familiar Rubin looks, you're not alone. She's been acting since she was a child, beginning with a role with Hugh Grant in the 2014 romantic comedy, The Rewrite. Before she had even finished school, she was performing on Broadway in The Rose Tattoo.

And since then, she's gone on to land roles in the Gossip Girl reboot, The Girl From Plainville, The Sweet East, The Idea Of You, and Anora.

She's a Louis Vuitton girl

Rubin isn't officially a House ambassador, but she has a growing relationship with Louis Vuitton. Her first-ever fashion show was for the brand's Spring Summer 2026 collection this May, and she repped LV for the Sterling Point premiere in New York City.
