While her surname may be instantly recognisable, we won't blame you if Ella Beatty isn't yet on your radar. That, however, is about to change. The actor is set to take on her biggest role yet, leading Ryan Murphy's next Monsters instalment, The Lizzie Borden Story.

She's the daughter of Hollywood royalty
No, that surname isn't a coincidence. Beatty is the daughter of Warren Beatty and Annette Bening. In other words, it's hardly surprising that she's found herself on our screens.
It's also not something Beatty feels the ned to shy away from. In conversation with Sarah Paulson for Interview Magazine, she shared: " I do feel a kind of responsibility towards an artistic legacy that I don’t feel ashamed of. I would hope that my work would be powerful enough to offer something specific. I’d hope that my work would be enough to make me separate, but I also understand why people do that."
Ella is the youngest of four siblings, and the only one to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
She's an Aries
Beatty was born on April 8, 2000, putting her towards the tail end of this fiery sign.
She attended Juilliard
Beatty has been honing her craft for some time. She graduated from the Juilliard School in 2022, where she studied drama.

She already has considerable acting credits
Monsters might be her first lead role, but chances are you've already seen Beatty on screen. In 2024, she made her television debut in Feud: Capote vs The Swans, playing Kerry O'Shea, the surrogate daughter and protégée of Truman Capote.
That same year, she found herself on Broadway – specifically, replacing Elle Fanning the Branden Jacobs-Jenkins play, Appropriate.

Speaking to Interview Magazine, Beatty said the role – which was opposite Sarah Paulson and Corey Stoll – changed her life.
"I met some of the people closest to me in my life," she said. "Artistically, I had never had an experience creating a character that way, with that platform, on stage. I had been trained to do that, but I’d never done it."
In 2025, she returned to the stage, this time starring with Hugh Jackman in the off-Broadway production of Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes.
