The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are finally here, celebrating the very best of American television. With Apple TV+’s Severance leading the pack at 27 nominations, audiences are in for a star-studded night.
When is it on?
For Australian viewers eager to tune in live, the ceremony will take place today, on Monday 15 September 2025 beginning at 10am AEST.
The red carpet arrivals, with all the fashion and fanfare, kick off an hour earlier at 9am AEST. That means coffee in hand, and perhaps a late breakfast, as Hollywood’s biggest stars hit the stage from Los Angeles’s Peacock Theater.
Where to watch it
The Emmys will be broadcast on Foxtel’s Arena channel. For those who prefer streaming, Binge is the go-to option, offering live coverage direct from Los Angeles.
ABC News will also provide a live blog throughout the event, perfect for following along at work or on the go.
Who's hosting and presenting?
This year, American comedian Nate Bargatze steps up as host for the first time. Known for his laid-back Southern humour, Bargatze has previously helmed Saturday Night Live and even earned a Grammy for Best Comedy Album.
As for the presenters, it’s a glittering lineup. From Hollywood icons like Angela Bassett, Tina Fey, and Jason Bateman to international names including Sydney Sweeney and Jude Law, the evening promises plenty of memorable moments.
Other presenters include Kristen Bell, Jennifer Coolidge, Mariska Hargitay, Charlie Hunnam, and Stephen Colbert.
When are the other Emmy Awards shows?
While today’s ceremony is the main 'Primetime' event, it’s just one part of the Emmy calendar. Other ceremonies, such as the Daytime, Sports, and International Emmys, celebrate achievements across television’s many genres. The Creative Arts Emmys, which highlight behind-the-scenes excellence, wrapped up earlier this week.
- Daytime Emmys: 17 October 2025 ( moving from its traditional May/June scheduling)
- Sports Emmys: already happened on 20 May 2025
- International Emmys: 26 November 2024 at 8am AEST
