Few brands have championed the idea of the capsule wardrobe quite like WARDROBE.NYC. Since launching in 2017, Christine Centenera and Josh Goot's New York-based label has become synonymous with elevated essentials, proving that a thoughtfully curated wardrobe can be just as impactful – and arguably more useful – as one overflowing with what's new and next.
Now, that philosophy is arriving at H&M. Launching on 6 August, the collaboration reinterprets WARDROBE.NYC's coveted designs into a tightly edited capsule. Think of these as pieces designed to be worn on their own, together and, ideally, loved for years.

Goot says the collaboration became an opportunity to reflect on the brand's defining pieces. "It offered us a moment of reflection: a chance to look back, and to look forward at the same time," he says. "We believe in the wardrobe concept, and the H&M collaboration gave us an opportunity to distil our work into one clear message."
That message is palpable in the pieces themselves. Long wool coats, double-breasted blazers and tailored skirts are balanced by relaxed trousers, hoodies, washed denim and bodysuits, all rendered in the brand's signature monochrome palette, with the exception of a single pop of powder blue. Premium fabrications, including wool, organic cotton and recycled technical materials, also remain central to the collection, proving that accessibility doesn't have to come at the expense of quality.

The collection was intentionally conceived as an edit rather than a reinvention of what WARDROBE.NYC already does so well. "Nothing new – and that was a deliberate choice," Goot says of the design process. "This is a moment of reflection rather than experimentation. The opportunity to look back at everything we've created, edit and consolidate into one message."
The idea of building a wardrobe over time necessitates pieces designed to slot seamlessly into what you already own, rather than purchasing statement styles season after season. "What we want is for all pieces to become staples," Centenera says. "You're building the base of a wardrobe and mixing it back in with things you already own."

The WARDROBE.NYC H&M collection launches on 6 August 2026 and will be available online, as well as in H&M's Pitt Street, Chadstone and GPO Melbourne stores.
