Venice Film Festival is not only known for having the most gorgeous lighting at its press conferences (IYKYK), but also for premiering some of the year's most talked-about films.
This year marks the 83rd edition of the Venice International Film Festival which, as always, promises a lineup of incredible actors, filmmakers, screenwriters and jury members. This year's jury includes Maggie Gyllenhaal, Daniel Blumberg and Xavier Giannoli. And dare we say, this year’s lineup includes one of the most talked-about titles of the season – Primetime, Lance Oppenheim’s A24 film about the origins of the TV show, To Catch a Predator.

Primetime, Lance Oppenheim
Venice will host the world premiere of one of the most anticipated movies this year, Primetime. This is a biological crime thriller that follows journalist Chris Hansen as he starts up the well-known show, To Catch a Predator, exploring the unsettling and often tense moments behind the making of a show built around exposing real-life predators. Robert Pattinson leads the cast, with Phoebe Bridgers set to appear in a supporting role.
Ink, Danny Boyle
Set in 1969, this biographical drama explores the early years of Rupert Murdoch and Larry Lamb as they transform The Sun from a struggling newspaper into one of Britain's most recognisable publications. Directed by Danny Boyle, the film stars Guy Pearce as Murdoch and Jack O’Connell as Lamb.
Wild Horse Nine, martin McDonagh
A British dark comedy, this film follows two CIA agents that get sent to Easter Island in 1973 before the Chilean coup, which was when the military overthrew Chile’s government. It stars John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell and Steve Buscemi.
Bunker, Florian Zeller
Starring our favourite couple Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem, Bunker follows an architect who accepts a questionable commission to build a end of world bunker for a tech billionaire, that leads his long-term wife to have doubts about their marriage.
Fucking Bastard, Werner Herzog
This story follows Jean and Joan Holbrooke, sisters – played by real-life sisters Kate and Rooney Mara – as they search for an imagined land where they believe they will find love. Their journey leads them to an unusual mission: digging a tunnel they hope will take them there.
Look Back, Hirokazu Koreeda
A live-action psychological drama based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s acclaimed manga, this film follows two schoolgirls who appear to be complete opposites but find common ground through their shared passion for drawing and creating manga. As their creative partnership develops, the story explores friendship, ambition and the emotional complexities of pursuing art.
UN BON PETIT SOLDAT, Stephane Brize
A French drama film, that follows Carla, a HR worker at an insurance company, whose role is to enhance the company's brand. As she navigates the pressures and contradictions of her role, the story explores the complexities of corporate culture, identity and ambition. With two of France's most acclaimed actors leading the cast, this is one to watch.
Woman Unknown, May el-Toukhy
This drama follows Marie, a former housekeeper who plans an extravagant dinner party to announce her engagement. But as preparations begin, details from her past life start to resurface, threatening to unravel the celebration and forcing her to confront the parts of herself she hoped to leave behind.
