In partnership with Vacheron Constantin
There's always been something inherently personal about the way we connect with timepieces. The smallest details can make us fall in love. From technicalities to aesthetics, the piece we choose to wear on our wrist can say a lot about our personal style. It's a philosophy we know well and appreciate here at RUSSH, and in celebration of Vacheron Constantin's 270-year quest to continuously seek the art of elegance, we transformed the boutique into an intimate styling suite for one night only – a unique opportunity to showcase the Maison's extensive collection and our very own tips for styling these pieces for any occasion.
An evening led and curated by RUSSH's executive fashion director Hannah Cooper and content director and watch editor Elyssa Kostopoulos, guests of the Maison and RUSSH purists came together for an immersion of style and watchmaking education. Centred around four key dressing events – black tie, evening wear, office hours and the weekend – champagne and canapés flowed as Vacheron Constantin's signature collections took centre stage.
On show were the Maison's Patrimony collection, the reimagined Historiques American 1921, the unmistakable Égérie and Fiftysix collection and of course, the Overseas. As guests relaxed into the velvet couches, the timepieces and looks emerged one by one, featuring models styled in a range of Australian and international designers while the RUSSH editors spoke to each occasion. "When it comes to styling timepieces, we believe rules are meant to be broken," began Cooper, a sentiment that wove through the entirety of the evening.
The Patrimony self-winding jewellery piece, which features 420 diamonds on the dainty snow-set dial, opened the styling session and was paired with an unforgettable red gown and styled over a sheer glove – a trick Cooper shared is her "go-to for a black tie look, especially if you're wanting to make your statement watch shine."
Elsewhere, the Historiques American 1921 in the 40mm was a clear crowd favourite, thanks to its innovative design DNA and slightly rebellious charm. Nicknamed the driver's watch, the slanted off-kilter dial made it easier to look at the time while driving – or, as RUSSH's watch editor shared, "is perfect for sneaking a glance at your watch mid-Martini on an evening out without making it too obvious."
It makes perfect sense that Vacheron Constantin's collection is compatible for all moments of life. Since 1755, the Swiss Maison has been at the vanguard of horological design, crafting timepieces that whisper elegance and command presence. It’s the quiet confidence of a Patrimony, the sculptural audacity of an Overseas, the way a Historiques American 1921 stops you in your tracks with its quirky yet classic silhouette. Always pushing the boundaries of technique and artistry, Vacheron Constantin has mastered the art of making watchmaking feel personal – intimate, even.
As the evening drew to a close as guests shared their favourite pieces, looks and styling tips with each other, one final sentiment remained. A Vacheron Constantin piece doesn’t just mark time; it defines it.
