Sparkle city – Tiffany & Co.’s Schlumberger High Jewellery Collection is coming to Sydney

Immaculate wonders. Tiffany & Co. Sydney will be welcoming the fantastical designs of visionary designer Jean Schlumberger to their King Street flagship boutique.

Jean Schlumberger was known for reimagining nature’s wonders into objects of mesmerising beauty, transforming strong sculptural designs into magnificent bejewelled statements. With gold and extraordinary gemstones as his medium, Schlumberger captured the wonder of flowers, exotic birds, mythical creatures and much more.

“I try to make everything look as if it were growing, uneven, at random, organic, in motion.” - Jean Schlumberger

An imaginative force, infusing fantasy with curiosity, Schlumberger’s world was one of energy and movement. Born into a prominent family in Alsace, France in 1907, Schlumberger pursued his love for the arts in spite of his parents lack of encouragement, and lucky for us. In 1956, he joined the Tiffany & Co. company as co-vice president at the request of Walter Hoving, chairman of Tiffany & Co. – prompting the creation of some of the most fantastical jewellery designs of his career.

“I want to capture the irregularities of the universe.” - Jean Schlumberger

The travelling jewellery collection is inspired by natures wonders and features many incredible pieces with extraordinary gemstones. As a magpie who is attracted to sparkly and shiny things, I have many personal favourite pieces. From the Flowers and Bars Necklace, which is comprised of 18k yellow gold and platinum with akoya pearls and round brilliant diamonds. The Sea Fan Earrings, made of platinum and 18k yellow gold and round brilliant diamonds. Other noteworthy loves include the Tulip Ring, Spiky Starfish Clip and Leaves Necklace and Earrings. If only there were an event to wear them to with high security by my side.

“I observe nature and find verve.” - Jean Schlumberger

The travelling Jean Schlumberger high jewellery collection will be available to purchase and observe in store this September 12 – 30 at the Tiffany & Co. Sydney flagship store on King Street.
