For The Handmaid's Tale fans among us, the wait between the season 3 finale and the highly-anticipated fourth season has been almost too much to bare. In some ways, 2020 has felt similar to living within Gilead's totalitarian society, and although we may still be waiting till 2021 to learn the fate of Elisabeth Moss' character – rebel handmaid June – we have finally been presented with some news that makes it worth the wait. The Handmaid's Tale season 5 is coming, with the cast of the Hulu hit-series answering our prayers in an Instagram video.
In the viral video, cast members including Elisabeth Moss, Alexis Bledel, Joseph Fiennes, Max Minghella, Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd, Bradley Whitford, Madeline Brewer, Yvonne Strahovski, O. T. Fagbenle, Amanda Brugel, and Sam Jaeger, shared the news with fans, Moss adding "It's my privilege and honour to tell this story. ... It's going to be a wild ride."

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, creator and showrunner Bruce Miller expressed his gratitude towards Hulu and MGM who have continued to support the screen adaptation of Margaret Atwood's best-selling novel of the same name.
"We’re very grateful to Hulu and MGM that the show will be returning for a fifth season, and especially to our loyal fans for their support ... We are thrilled to be able to continue to tell these stories, with our incredible cast and crew, and can’t wait to be back on the air with season four next year."
Although there are still very few details on the fifth instalment of the hit show, we thankfully have season 4 to help bridge the gap. Set to arrive in 2021, the upcoming series will revert back to its season 1 formula, consisting of only 10 episodes as opposed to the 13 we have become accustomed to. Speaking to IndieWire, Miller shared that "Some storylines just seem to shake out as a 10-episode story, in my eyes," adding that he feels "like it gives us a little more freedom because you can rely more on one propulsive element."
