If you’re already counting down the days until Laneway Festival, here’s another reason to get excited. The Dare is bringing his infamous Freakquencies club night back to Australia in February — and this time it will take place across two nights of late-night fun in Sydney and Melbourne.
Here's what you need to know.
What is it?
For anyone who’s experienced The Dare’s Freakquencies nights before, you know they’re less like traditional concerts and more like akin to a club ritual. The US producer is known for turning venues into electric dance floors, and this February he’s doing it twice over in Australia.
For the initiated, you might remember that it's not the first time The Dare has brought his Freakquencies club nights to Australia. Back in December 2024, he hosted one in Melbourne and RUSSH was on the ground to see exactly what all the fuss was about — trust us, you'll want to be there.
Wet Leg and Geese will support with DJ sets
Leave it to The Dare to enlist two of the most exciting names from the Laneway line-up to join him behind the decks: Wet Leg and Geese.
Both acts are known for their boundary-pushing sounds, so expect the night to be unpredictable, and absolutely unmissable.
When and where is it happening?
The events are timed to follow Laneway Festival. The exact timings and locations are as follows:
Sydney
- Liberty Hall, Gadigal Land
- Sunday 8 February from 10pm
Melbourne
- 170 Russell, Wurundjeri Land
- Friday 13 February from 10pm
How to get tickets (and when they go on sale)
If you want in, you’ll need to move fast. Tickets go on sale at 12pm local time on Friday 23 January, with a presale available beforehand.
The presale will happen via frontiertouring.com/thedare, and run for 24 hours from: Thursday 22 January (11am local time), or until tickets are sold out.
Given the demand and the hype around both The Dare and the supporting DJ sets, these are likely to sell out quickly — so if you’re planning to go, mark your calendar and set your alarm.
