Apple just dropped a teaser for ‘Ted Lasso’ season four

While I love the twists and turns of a suspenseful drama, there's something to be said for feel-good television. And perhaps no show has done it better over the years than Ted Lasso.

Now, there's officially more Ted Lasso-goodness to come, with Apple TV+ renewing the series for season four. Jason Sudeikis will, of course, return as the titular character, bringing back his unique brand of heartwarming storytelling. In case you've somehow managed to miss the hype of the first three seasons, Ted is an American football who is hired to manage a British soccer team. Embarking halfway across the world for the challenge, what he lacks in knowledge about the sport, he makes up for in optimism, determination, and humour.

Rumours of a fourth season had been swirling for some time, with Sudeikis' co-star Nick Mohammed (who plays Nick Shelley), hinting that filming was underway back in January 2025. Taking to X, Mohammed announced that he was rescheduling his upcoming Show Pony comedy tour, “for some filming I have not been able to shift for love of money.”

He continued, “I cannot say what that filming is. But it will be announced shortly."

But it was what he did next that really drove home the theory of a new Ted Lasso season four: holding up a sing hand-painted with the word 'BELIEVE' (a trademark of Ted Lasso), Mohammed said: “In the meantime, I would really appreciate if people just didn’t speculate as to what they think it might be. The last thing I want is for people to be going mad.”

Apple has released a teaser

When does it come out?

The wait is (almost) over. Apple TV has confirmed the series will drop globally on August 5, 2026. Episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays.

What is the latest on Ted Lasso season four?

Prior to filming kicking off, Hanah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton, said she was eager to get reacquainted with her character. “It feels like it was the most beautiful, beloved dog that was buried, and now we’ve exhumed it, and I am here for it,” she told Variety. “I was hankering and hankering and hankering and hankering to see where Rebecca had gone, where she was going to. She’s my girl. She’s in my bloodstream, so I’m thrilled that it’s been exhumed.”

Who is cast in Ted Lasso season four?

So many of our favourites are back for season four. Sudeikis, of course, is making a return, plus Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift.

There's also a few new additions, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.

What else do we know about Ted Lasso season four?

In short, not a lot. Sudeikis did, however, release a statement about the series' return, saying: “As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap.' In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”

Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, also shared his thoughts, saying, “Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief. Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show.”
