The poet’s words found me by chance. Nestled inside a worn, leather-bound book that had been designed into the shelves of the hotel lobby as décor; pleasing to the eye against the oak, rather than – I suspect – for the transcendence it held in its pages.
In a blessed moment words can elevate the mind and exalt the character, and these, comically incongruent to the scene unfolding around me, were words I needed to hear, although I was surprised by it at the time.
The pages of this issue were created with the desire to go beyond. Nature transcending the physical world. The notion of the divine. Awe. Astonishment.
May it also find you somewhere expected, may it answer some kind of boundless need of your soul. And for an instant, may all you have in front of you feel wholly, abundantly sublime.
