If you're not already watching Sterling Point, what are you doing? The drama has taken over just about every part of my brain since it landed on Prime Video on August 5. And I'm not alone, clearly, because Sterling Point hit number one on the streamer just days after it premiered.
The show takes the best elements of The Summer I Turned Pretty (love triangles, summer holidays, a great soundtrack) and fuses it with the rich-teens-left-to-their-own devices vibes of The OC, with a dash of the earnestness and nostalgia of the indie film, My Old Ass (fitting, because Megan Park is behind both this and Sterling Point).
But if you have already watched a few episodes, and found yourself with questions about the (at times, fairly complicated) characters, you've come to the right place. A complete guide to every Sterling Point character (and the actor who plays them), below.
Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin)
The woman at the centre of it all. When we meet Annie, she's an ambitious (perhaps a little neurotic) 17-year-old on the cusp of her final summer before her senior year of high school. When her plans to attend a prestigious business school program fall through, what takes their place is something much juicier. After her estranged grandfather dies, he leaves her (and her twin brother) an island in Muskoka, Canada. In a quest to understand their mother (her grandfather's daughter, who died when she was just a baby) better, Annie leaves New York on a secret trip to Canada. When she arrives, she discovers a lot more than she initially bargained for, including a secret half-sister...

Ramona (Amelie Hoeferle)
Which brings us to Ramona. She is the only biological daughter of Goldie (Annie's adoptive mum). Because Goldie died during childbirth with Ramona, Ramona was largely raised by her grandfather, Gordon. Annie's arrival on the island throws everything Ramona thought she knew about her life – and any surviving family – into disarray. As we learn a few episodes into the season, the identity of her father also might not be as secret as first thought, and he's actually closer than he seems.
Amelie's CV is pretty impressive. She's had roles in Eddington, The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and Night Swim.
Connor Jacobson (Keen Ruffalo)
The third piece to this puzzle. Connor is Annie's biological twin sister, but they couldn't be more different. He is chaotic, perhaps a little misunderstood, and describes "having fun" as the only thing he's really good at. When he eventually learns of Annie's trip to Canada, he follows her there, with one plan only: to sell the island, and make millions. Will Annie and Ramona be able to change his mind over the course of the summer?
In addition to being the son of Mark Ruffalo, you might recognise Keen from roles in Hal & Harper and Begin Again. Most recently, he landed a role in the comedy Nimrods, which is now in theatres.
Ellis (Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie)
Every good story needs a love triangle, and Ellis is one piece of this one. He's a local on the island, along with his Dad, Joe, who owns the local boating company, and his mum, who is a nurse on the mainland. He's the one who first welcomes Annie to the island, by flying her by seaplane over from the mainland. Naturally, he's harbouring secret feelings for her as the season goes on.
Just like his character, Jacob is also Canadian. He's had roles in Troubled Waters, Eaux Turbulentes, and First Line. Many have also pointed out a striking resemblance to actor Mason Thames, but the pair aren't related.
Rory (Daniel Quinn-Toye)
The other part of this love triangle is Rory, Annie's childhood friend from New York who she inadvertently reconnects at a party with over the summer. Unlike Ellis, Rory is a holidaymaker, with his family owning one of the many mansions that sit on the waterfront of the island.
Daniel's most recent roles include understudying for Tom Holland in the West End production of Romeo and Juliet. He'll also soon be part of the cast of Cry To Heaven, Tom Ford's upcoming project.
Oona (Bo Bragason)
The wonderfully quirky Oona lives on a houseboat with her 12-year-old sister, Maple. She's immediately friendly with Annie, taking her under her wing when she first arrives on the island. As things go on, we learn that Oona's life is a little more complicated trhan her demeanour gives off: her mum is currently MIA on a trip to India, leaving Oona and Maple on their own.
Bo is English, just like her character. She's acted in shows like Renegade Nell and The Jetty, but we'd say the best is yet to come for her – she's set to lead the upcoming Legend of Zelda film.
Sully (Nikko Angelo Hinayo)
An essential part of the Muskoka friendship group. Sully is close with Oona, Ramona, and Ellis. Their parents own the island's general store and cafe, so Sully works there – and frequently gives away food to Oona and co.
You might recognise Nikko from their role in Davey & Jonesy's Locker, opposite none other than Veronika Slowikowska.
Maple (Mabel Strachan)
Oona's precocious younger sister. Look closely, and you'll see she's always got a book in her hand, and it's usually something wise beyond her years, from Mel Robbins' Let Them, to Bessel van der Kolk's The Body Keeps The Score.
In real life, Mabel is Scottish, and has previously been in The Ridge.
Steven (Jay Duplass)
This is Annie and Connor's adoptive father, who raised them alone in New York after Goldie died on the island. He's protective and well-meaning, but a little clueless.
And no, you're not imaging it. Jay and Ella have shared the screen before, in The Chair.
Joe (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)
This is Ellis' dad (and maybe Ramona's too, IYKYK). Joe's past is shrouded in mystery – it's not until Annie discovers an old mixtape that she realises he was once embroiled in a fling with her mum, Goldie.
Jeffrey's acting credits are far and wide, from The Walking Dead and Supernatural to Grey's Anatomy.
