As all astrology-devotees do, here at RUSSH, we turn to the stars for just about everything. From calculating if you're pursuing the right career, to knowing how your love life will shape up in 2025, our star signs can tell us a whole lot more than just our basic personality traits.

And while there'll always be a place for star signs when it comes to tackling these big, existential issues, there's also room to have a little fun with astrology, too. Like your next pastry order, for example. Ever stood in line at the coffee shop, only to be stumped when its your turn to order? This is for you. Or maybe you hate the chunks in an almond croissant, but love a flakey pastry? Your horoscope could have an answer for that.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

Pastry: Trdelnik

Aquarians are innovative, and forward-thinking, not afraid to try something new — including with their pastry order. The Trdelnik, a sweet, crunchy cinnamon pastry that originated inth Czech Republic, is practically begging to be ordered by this sign. Classic flavours, but with an unconventional twist.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Pastry: Persian Love Cake

Pisces are dreamy, artistic, and deeply sensitive, so something similarly delicate and sweet only seems appropriate. A good Persian Love Cake is moist, fragrant, with subtle notes of rosewater and pistachio. Legend has it, the first Persian Love Cake was baked by a young woman for a prince she was in love with, with each ingredient selected to show her affection. We know Pisces would just love that lore.

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Pastry: Nduja foccacia

Bold and just a little bit spicy, nduja foccacia has Aries' fiery spirit written all over it. The nduja packs heat and definitely isn't shy in flavour, much like Aries main-character energy. The soft, pillowy focaccia, on the other hand, is an easy crowd favourite, and can win over a room (or a menu) like only an Aries can.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Pastry: Apple Strudel

Some things — and people — have the ability to make you feel better just by being in their presence. For us, that's why we're designating Taurus the Apple Strudel of the Zodiac group. The traditional Viennese dessert is sweet and aromatic: a RUSSH team favourite served with whipped cream in the winter months.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Pastry: Pan au Raisin

The humble Pan au Raisin is a pastry that, much like Geminis themselves, divides opinions. Known for their duality and oft-changing moods, Geminis are full of surprises. These can either cause delight or disdain — kind of like when you nite into a sweet treat expecting chocolate chips, only to find they're actually raisins...

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Pastry: Vegemite scroll

Cancer is all about nurturing and homey vibes which, to us, is perfectly encapsulated in a Vegemite scroll. The comforting lunchbox staple is the perfect sentimental pastry for this water sign.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

Pastry: Croquembouche

Leos love to shine, and a show-stopping croquembouche, with its glossy wisps of caramel and towering layers, is the perfect match for their dramatic flair. A dessert designed to be admired in the centre of a stunning table.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Pastry: Kanelbullar

These traditional cinnamon buns are crafted with the kind of Danish precision that only a Virgo could truly appreciate. Equally satisfying to this neurotic sign, Virgos will salivate at the perfect balance of sweet cinnamon filling and aromatic cardamon signature to a Kanelbulle. Like a Virgo, it's also a dependable order — you know it's going to hit the spot, every time.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)

Pastry: Crumbl Cookie

Librans care intensely about what others think of them, so it makes sense that they'd translate to arguably the most viral dessert of 2025. Much like a Libra, this  crowd-pleasing treat is loved by many for its variety, sweetness, and ability to adapt to any occasion.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

Pastry: Dark chocolate eclair

Sexy, but not entirely sweet, a dark chocolate eclair has Scorpio written all over it. This sign is intense, mysterious, and passionate, so a rich, dark chocolate flavour, perfectly reflects their depth and love for indulgence.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

Pastry: Beignet

Sagittarians are notoriously adventurous and hard to pin down — kind of like a good beignet. If you can get your hands on one, a beignet matches Sagittarius' love for all-things a little exotic, having originated from France.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Pastry: Plain croissant

Simple, classic, and always dependable, Capricorns have more than a little in common with the humble croissant. Known for their practicality and no-nonsense approach, Capricorns appreciate the understated elegance of a perfectly baked croissant, with its crisp exterior and buttery, flaky layers. While it may not steal the spotlight like more extravagant pastries, the croissant's reliability and timelessness will always be delicious to us.
