Waking early in winter can be a struggle at times. For me, there's not many things more demotivating than rising early from luscious winter bed linens without knowing I have something comfortable and warm to slip into – whether I'm heading to a 6am Pilates class or just making a coffee run.
We’ve already covered our selects of the best black coats and the boots we’re investing in this season, but what about the pieces we're reaching for when comfort takes ultimate priority? From tracksuits that survive long-haul flights to the knitwear and sneakers on constant rotation, the RUSSH team is here to share our favourites in activewear and loungewear this season.

I love my loungewear and sports-sets, especially that sort of tennis-sports inspired vibe. I already have a rather extensive collection. One of my favourites is my Nimble knitted tracksuit, it’s so cosy. I always wear it on flights. I also have a few Pinky and Kamal flares sets. But I’m in the market for a couple more as I wear them to death. Unlike other sportswear, the fabric used in this style always stays smelling clean, even after a mega sweat session. I bought a NikeSkims sports bra at the beginning of the year in pink and I am sorely tempted to get it in black too as it’s so comfortable. I’ve also been eyeing off some of the matching winter sets at CSB. I love this grey one but there’s also a plum-coloured set that I love too. Finally, I’ve had this Anine Bing sweatshirt on my list for a couple of weeks, I feel like it would work for so many different occasions.

I definitely cosplay sport more than I actually play it, but this Sporty & Rich pleated skirt has me wanting to get on the pickleball court. The full-look is transpiring in my mind: Tom Ford sunglasses, Golden Goose sneakers, and a RUSSH cap of course.
For a coastal walk, Alo Yoga flared leggings layered over Bala Band ankle weights and a breathable long-sleeve like this one from Arket.
When I’m at home, or keeping things casual, cashmere from Lee Mathews or a knit like this one from St. Agni is perfect, and works easily with my wider wardrobe. I already have a pair of bassike’s athletic stripe pants, but am eyeing a second pair in this burgundy shade.

I must admit, when winter comes around I struggle in the workout department. I think I haven’t perfected my outfit yet, but I have perfected my loungewear. On my feet most of the time are my On Cloudtilt’s – they are so comfortable and so supportive, whether running or just walking they are my go-to sport shoes. Also from On and on my wishlist, is their knit shorts and studio long-T.
Forever on my winter wishlist is CouCou Intimates’ long sleeve t-shirts. My Everau Ugg boots are also always on my feet. They’re always cold, so this has solved a big problem in my life. And for everyday of the year, Calvin Klein underwear, always.

It has been quite a few years since I’ve needed to replace my winter activewear and loungewear (mostly, I think, because I try to avoid being in Australia during the cooler months at all costs). So far, I have been living in the NikeSKIMS Ribbed Seamless Women's Cropped Full-Zip Jacket and NikeSKIMS Shine Women's High-Waisted Bonded Leggings to combat the cold mornings at the gym. But even though I do need to make some new additions, I’m trying not to go overboard and repurchase pieces I know I already love.
Starting with tracksuits, I currently only have two sets that are appropriate for out-of-home wear (the Uniqlo C sweat pants and jumper have stood the test of many long-haul flights), so when I saw this quarter zip and matching barrel fleece trackpant from Australian brand Pinky & Kamal, I was instantly sold. I particularly love that the bottoms feel more like a pant than loungewear, too.
Onto activewear, I have been a long-time fan of the alo yoga airbrush fabrication, and have been wanting to add a blue set to my training wardrobe. I found the classic High-Waist 7/8 Better Together Legging in navy and white, with the matching crop top. A new piece I am trying is the Airbrush Corset Full Zip Jacket – an item I have heard great reviews on. I also received a hot tip from my Pilates instructor that she had recently purchased a pair of the Lululemon Groove Low-Rise Relaxed Cinch Pants. I bought them this past weekend and can’t wait to try them out, styled with my trusty Nike V5 RNR runners, of course.

I’m starting my winter loungewear wardrobe strong with this hoodie and adorable polka dot cardigan from Em on Holiday. These pinstripe pants are so comfortable that I’ve been wearing them everywhere from the office to lounging at home. My North Face puffer has become one of the most practical pieces in my winter wardrobe and has been on constant rotation for everything from dog walks and Pilates to coffee runs. I’ve also been loving wearing my North Face slippers whenever I can (I’m sure they’ll make their way into the office sooner rather than later).
This tracksuit from Pinky and Kamal has also been on high rotation so far this season. Not only is it chic, but it’s incredibly comfortable too. I’ve also been loving their activewear, which has become a staple in both my Pilates wardrobe and my coffee date uniform. No lounge or activewear outfit of mine is complete without my beloved Salomons. They’ve become even more practical given Sydney’s rainy weather lately.
While I’m spending more time lounging at home, I’ve also been enjoying these Biodance face masks. They’ve been the perfect addition to my routine and a little extra self-care to help with the seasonal change.

I've had this Oversized Knit Sweater from CSB for some time now and I still reach for it on cooler days. It's become a bit more slouchy as time goes on, which I love.
Long sleeve tops are a common go-to for me. This cotton long-sleeved top from COS is great, as is this All For Mimi chocolate long sleeve.
These Elka Collective ernie pants look comfortable and are on my wishlist. And for Pilates, I can't go past the lululemon align high-rise pant 25". Lastly, I love a soft sock – and these cashmere socks from papinelle are divine.

I was generously gifted a pair of Kye Intimates Recline Pants about a year ago and they remain the softest thing I own. I also saw my fave Brisbane boutique CAMARGUE is now stocking Flore Flore shirts. It would be perfectly paired with these Venroy Mohair shorties, and a cashmere sock – the Yves Trio from Comme Si are the pinnacle.
