It probably shouldn't be legal for a human to be as beautiful and multi-talented as Simone Ashley. But alas, here we are. Not only is Ashley one of our favourite actresses of the current generation, but she's also adding singer to her CV.
The 31-year-old actress, who captured our hearts as Kathani “Kate” Sharma in the second season of Netflix’s hit Bridgerton, confirmed her music debut on Instagram this week, teasing fans with what’s set to be her first official single.
Posting a behind-the-scenes clip of herself in the studio, Simone captioned it simply: “Here we go. 10th April.”

It's not the first time Simone Ashley has proven she can sing
Ashley isn’t actually completely new to music. She previously lent her vocals to “Cool to Be Kind” on The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland soundtrack. This upcoming release, however, marks her solo debut.
As if that wasn’t enough to look forward to, she’s also set to star alongside Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada sequel, and fans can expect her to return in Bridgerton season five. She's also landed a role in the stacked ensemble for A24's Peaked, alongside the likes of Connor Storrie, Dua Lipa, and Alex Consani. Booked and busy.
What will the music sound like?
Sadly, your guess is as good as ours. Ashley hasn't dropped any teasers of the actual song itself, so it could take on any genre at this stage. What we can hear in the clip that Ashley shared, however, is a man's voice — a potential collaborator, perhaps?
