Sabrina Carpenter might currently be on her Short n' Sweet tour, but the wait for the singer to announce Australian tour dates has been long and painful.
Aussie fans have watched from the sidelines (read: our TikTok feeds) as Carpenter toured her signature glittering costumes and inimitable stage presence across the globe, without any indication of if it would eventually be our turn. Add into the mix the announcement of the singer's seventh studio album later this year, Man's Best Friend, and all hope was seemingly lost that the Short n' Sweet tour would ever make it's way Down Under. That is, until now. Eagle-eyed fans have noticed a very telling detail on Carpenter's officially website, and are convinced that a tour announcement is imminent. Let's investigate.
Is Sabrina Carpenter touring Australia?
Rumours went into overdrive this week, when an Australian Carpenter took to TikTok with a very interesting observation. Jacinda Chenelle shared that Carpenter's Australian website had surreptitiously been updated, to include new details in the FAQ section about ticketing pre-sale access. You can watch the video in full here:
@jacindachenelle For the love of god, @Sabrina Carpenter please put Aussies out of our misery. We want to see you! 💋 #sabrinacarpenter #shortnsweet #shortnsweettour #manchild #mansbestfriend #australia #melbourne #sydney ♬ Manchild - Sabrina Carpenter
Unsurprisingly, fans were quick to jump on the video, with many speculating when the tour would be announced. According to one user, it could be as early as this week. "I'm predicting an announcement on Wednesday, but we'll see!" @solariscollects wrote.
Adding fuel to the rumour mill fire, Ticketek also currently have a waitlist page for the day when a tour is eventually announced. Coincidence? We'd like to think not.
When will Sabrina Carpenter come to Australia?
Obviously, your guess is as good as ours here. But given that Man's Best Friend is due for release in August, a Short n' Sweet tour would likely need to take place some time before then. Of course, it's highly possible that the tour in question could be around the new album -- a development we certainly wouldn't be mad at. Supporting this theory, another fan commented on Chenelle's TikTok saying they had noticed marketing for Man's Best Friend across Melbourne. "There was advertising for the new album in Melbourne," @aine.curtis wrote. "A video with promo clips was was projected in Richmond so I think that's a big sign.:
We'll keep you updated when we know more around the specifics.
